EPV (living heritage company) certification
This "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" label was created by article 23 of the law for SMEs on 2nd August 2005, to promote the development of enterprises with an economical heritage, particularly those entailing a famous or ancestral rare skill, based on the mastery of traditional techniques or sophisticated technical skills and specific to a geographical area.
The enterprises in question are those with an activity that entails production, transformation, reparation or restoration, regardless of size (except enterprises in the agricultural and food sector with their own quality label).
A National Commission is responsible for presenting the minister with candidate enterprises for the label. It is composed of qualified figures, representatives of the professional sector and the relevant ministries, with
Institut Supérieur des Métiers acting as secretariat and with Marie-Françoise Brulé as chairwoman.
